We had the most wonderful day on Thursday celebrating World Book Day as a whole school again.
The day started with a special assembly where we all rejoiced in the characters everyone had come as. There were so many wonderful, inventive and imaginative costumes from Red Riding Hood to Harry Potter, The House with Chicken Legs to Footballers, Willy Wonka to Spiderman - everyone made an effort. We especially love costumes made with clothes found at home and it was super to see lots of creative thinking.
Children then got to choose a book they would like to listen to from a selection of 15 books. There was definitely something to get everyone excited. We were delighted to see older ones enjoying a favourite younger story by Julia Donaldson whilst they had chance and some younger children opening their minds to the incredible works of Roald Dahl. We split into groups to listen to our stories before rejoining our class mates to enjoy work based about stories for the rest of the day.
Well done everyone for your enthusiasm and effort.
