Reception certainly wowed us all with their first ever school performance of 'Mary's Knitting'. The show started with the Angel (Lottie), telling Mary she would have a baby. Millie played the part of the Mummy to be, who was worried that the blanket she wanted to knit for Baby Jesus wouldn't be ready in time for his arrival. She collected some wool from Sidney Shepherd (Max) and his five happy sheep (Jett, Georgia, Florence, Tommy and Stanley). After being told to go to Bethlehem by the soldier (Jimmy), Mary went on her journey with Joseph (Theo), she met some kind shepherds (William, Laurence and Ruairi) who showed her a smooth path, a bright star (Sophie) who lit the way and some generous Wise Men (Matthew, Fred and Roman) who shared their food. Once in Bethlehem a caring Innkeeper (Blake) took pity on Mary and Joseph and let them stay in his stable. Mary finished the blanket and wrapped the baby up nice and warm. Everyone was happy. The story was told fabulously by our amazing narrators - Lucija, Lily, Cillian, Mimi, Freddie, Florence, Sebby, Riley, Sophia, Evie, Isabelle and Lizzie. These children worked their socks off to remember all the words to share the most wonderful story.
The children truly blew us aware with their singing and acting and truly started Christmas off. Councillor Kate Rolfe came to see their performance and she told them what a brilliant job they had done.
