Our Eco committee have always been very active in ensuring we are doing as much as we can to make Alveston less wasteful, better at recycling and more eco aware.
Our the last few years we have been making small but sustainable changes. Some of the things we have done - we have:
- eradicated disposable water bottles coming into school daily
- reduced paper by sending letters and reports digitally (saving over 4000 pieces of paper per year)
- changed to refillable glue sticks
A big challenge that we have set this year is to compost all food waste so no food goes into our general waste bins. To help with this we are holding a composting assembly so everyone understands our aim and how we can achieve it.
