How excited were we when we discovered that children's author Steven Lenton, dedicated his third book to all our children?!
Steven worked with our children during the autumn term as our resident author through our work with the Stratford Literacy Trust. He talked about how he had come up with his ideas, how he had written the book and taught us all to draw our very own 'Teeny' dog. Steven was very generous with his time and answered all our children's questions. Following a question about whether he would dedicate his next book to the children, whilst Steven didn't say no, no-one thought his offer to consider it would lead to an actual dedication. How wrong we were!
The dedication reads: For the cheeky children of Alveston Primary School. SK x
Thank you to those parents who got in touch to let us know and that the proof was in print. We shared the news during our Celebration Assembly and the children, having got over the shock, were absolutely delighted!
Thank you Steven for all you have done to encourage our children to write and illustrate and to follow in your footsteps!
