I write to draw your attention to a new, exciting initiative being held at Stratford-on-Avon Golf Club this summer, which is about encouraging beginner girls aged from 5-18 years to learn and play golf in a fun and friendly way.
The club is participating in England Golf’s ‘Girls' Golf Rocks’ programme, by staging FREE taster sessions for girls on 29th June from 1pm - 2pm and 2pm - 3pm, organised by the professional golf team.
The one-hour taster sessions are a great way of trying golf before signing up to a six-weeks coaching course.
There are just 16 places available in Stratford, on a first-come-first served basis, which can be reserved by registering an interest and booking a slot via the England Golf website https://www.englandgolf.org/girls-golf-rocks/
This is a great way for girls to get into golf and our PGA Professional, Julian Dodsworth, and his team create an environment where they feel comfortable and confident to join in the initial sessions, with the opportunity and a clear pathway for them to continue their participation.
The Girls Golf Rocks programme is running nationally across England with around 200 host clubs/facilities taking part.
