A Day in the Life of a Roman
On Wednesday, Year 3 experienced life in the Roman army and discovered more about how the Celts in Britain lived under Roman rule. We had lots of fun handling replicas of the equipment used by Roman soldiers and dressing as them before becoming legionaries marching in formation on the playground. Later, we learned more about everyday life by exploring a forum where we tried writing, shopping, dressing and playing like Romans. We also tried on the equipment of gladiators and practised honing our skills in small groups with nets and pretend tridents! Finally, we enjoyed learning and playing more Roman games as well as listening to some exciting Roman myths. We all had a great day learning more by getting hands on with Roman life!
