On Thursday, our Year 3 and 4 Cross Country team headed to the Recreation Ground to compete against other Stratford schools in a 2k race. The field was large and the pace was fast but our runners did brilliantly in their first ever experience of a Cross Country competition. Henry P in Year 4 came 2nd in his race, while Oliver in Year 3 came top 7. All the runners performed well and we are super proud of you.
Well done to Cora, Hazel, Quinn, McLaren, Noah, Oliver, Willow, Isabelle, Sadie, Henry, Seth and Harley. Also thanks to Mr Williams, Sadie’s dad, for being a parent volunteer on the day.
A special mention must also go to Isabella in Year 6 who acted as a lead-out runner (hare) for the younger children and was a huge help to the adults on the day. Isabella came first in her race at the end of October, and Oscar Perham came fourth in his. We are hoping the other year 5s and 6s, who were unable to compete then, will have their chance in a rescheduled event in the New Year. We will update you as we know more.
