Year 1 were lucky enough to experience the most amazing Autumn sunshine during their Forest School visit this week. They were searching for and collecting items from the environment to make animal pictures, finishing them off with a frame using twigs. A fabulous afternoon for the Year 1 children!
Don't forget our Harvest Festival is next week on Thursday 19th October. All classes have been hard at work preparing their pieces to perform!
Starting at 2:15pm at St James' Church, all families are welcome and pews will be marked where children will be sitting. Parents and family members will be seated at the back in unlabelled pews. Please can we ask all those driving, to help keep our children safe, not drive down Alveston Lane. Thank you!

Football Festival
On Monday, Year 6 competed in their second Football Festival against other Stratford Schools. They were complimented on their determination and team work as they played the other schools in the friendly competition. Our Year 6 team made it to the play-offs and came 5th place in the festival.
A big well done to the boys and a big thank you to all the parents who came to support!
Man of the Match!
We are very proud to announce that Liam, from Year 3, has won an amazing award. Last week, Liam was crowned "Man of the Match" for his role in right midfield and for his hard work running up and down in the game and displaying some great defending! His team won 7-1. WOW!
Well done to Liam, and his team, for such great achievements!
Year 1 Bake Sale
Last week's Bake Sale was a huge success and Year 1 definitely showed their baking prowess! This week was Reception class's turn and we'll report back soon...!
As you are no doubt aware, bake sales will be held across the year, representing each school year (see dates below). And the icing on the cake...? The year that has sold the most cakes will win a fantastic prize!
So, roll up your sleeves, put on your chef's hat, and get ready to impress with your baking and selling prowess. It's a friendly competition that promises loads of fun and deliciousness. Let's make this bake sale series a scrumptious success!

Friends of Alveston Event Reminder – ** Bag2School**
There will be a clothing & shoe collection with Bag2School, at morning drop-off on Monday 16th October, in order to raise funds for Friends of Alveston.
Hopefully you will have received your Bag2School leaflets in your child’s book bag.
This is the perfect time for a pre-Christmas clear-out and to get rid of any summer bits cluttering up your wardrobes. If you have any items that you are able to get rid of, please pop them in a bin bag and attach the leaflet to the bag. Items can include adults’ and children’s clothes, shoes (tied together please), belts, handbags and soft toys. The leaflet gives more information but you can also refer to the website

There is no limit on the number of bags so if you are having a massive clear-out, we can accept all the bags!
Please note duvets, pillows and work or school uniform with logos are not accepted.
Most importantly - THE HEAVIER THE BETTER!!!

Virtual First Aid ~ Barnado's Warwickshire Children & Family Centres, in conjunction with Freddie's Wish, are offering virtual first aid courses for parents, grandparents and carers, in October. General Reminders
Parking at Drop-Off and Pick-Up
We are so lucky at Alveston that the Football Club allow all our parents who drive to school to use their car park for drop-off and pick-up. This makes it safer for all our children. Please continue to use the Football Club car park. Please do not park on Knights Lane, Oak Road or any double-yellow lines for pick-up or drop-offs. Please also ensure that you do not stop or park within the zig-zag "Keep Clear" markings. This area is marked to keep the flow of traffic moving and to ensure the safety of all pedestrians.
Music lessons in school

Warwickshire Music have opened their waiting lists for: Piano, Violin, Oboe, Flute, Clarinet, Tenoroon/bassoon, Cello, Viola and Guitar (age restrictions apply to some instruments. Coronavirus within school
If your child tests positive for coronavirus, or has one or more of: temperature, continuous cough, loss of sense of smell or taste, please keep them off school for a minimum of three days or until they are better after three days. Please report all absences to the school office as below.
Sickness and Absence
Please let the school office know each day your child is absent from school by calling 01789 293412 and leaving a message. You may also email parents3002@welearn365.com. You do not need to contact us daily if your child is sick. Absences for sickness will be recorded 48 hours from the end of the day your child was last sick (i.e. if sick on Sunday, come back on Wednesday; if Tuesday come back on Friday) nor for COVID absences.
Medicines in School
We cannot accept medicines in school without a prescription label and a medical form completed by a parent or carer. Please ask the school office for more information and/or a form: parents3002@welearn365.com.

Naming Items in school
