To mark Remembrance Day, Year 2 and Year 6 walked to the War Memorial in Alveston today for a service of Remembrance and to lay a poppy wreath. They were met there by Rev. Linda and Martin Grubb, one of our school governors and lots of members of our local and school community. Rev. Linda led a poignant service to remember those who have given their lives and the children shared readings. A two minute silence was held to think of the fallen. After the service, the children and their families had time to look at the memorial and to read the names of the soldiers who lost their lives. In school, everyone else had an early play so that they too could also take part in the two minute silence.
Thank you to everyone who joined us. We are always so proud of the respect and empathy that our children show at this time of the year.
