Year 6 have been engaged in a 'Make Do and Mend Project' linked to their topic on WW2. The children were tasked with upcycling items of clothing.
They first had to consider their target audience and then design and make their ideas accordingly. In the process they practised their sewing skills including running, back, cross and blanket stitches. All the children had great fun and there were some amazing results!
With 'make do and mend' very much back in fashion due to environmental and financial factors, you are right on trend Year 6! Well done!
