Links to Church and Diocese

We are very proud to be a Church of England School, rated outstanding in two consecutive SIAMS inspections (2012, 2017). We have close links with St James' Church in Alveston. The vicar, Reverend Linda MacDermott, leads whole school worship at the start of every month. In addition, we have other visitors from the church and local organisations who support our Collective Worship, sharing their own beliefs and faith experiences.

As a school we visit the church for Harvest, Christingle and for Easter. In addition, Revd. Linda visits children in our Key Stage 2 class (classes 3 to 6) to teach the children about Eucharist and to deliver a service. Additional visits to the church take place throughout the year as part of our wider curriculum studies.

Our school is in the Diocese of Coventry. We are a 'Cross of Nails' School. Every year we teach the children about how the cross appeared after the bombing of Coventry Cathedral.  Children create their own crosses having reflected on the story,
