Today, we held our first Times Tale Rockstars Battle of the Bands. The children in Years 4, 5 and 6 came to school dressed as rock stars ready to throw out all their best times table skills in an attempt to be the winning class. In the morning, Year 4 and 5 battled it out, all trying hard to share as many of their times table facts as quickly as possible. It was a close contest but Year 5 came out victorious ready to battle Year 6 in the afternoon. The challenge was then really on - 30 minutes per class to work as a team to get the highest score. It came right down to the wire with merely points in it but during the last two minutes, Year 6 upped their game and smashed Year 5's score. Year 6 incredibly got 15,929 correct answers in their time slot. Impressive! We loved the element of competition and working as a team to improve their maths whilst having a great deal of fun. The next TTRS Battle of the Bands day will be announced soon!
