It was truly wonderful to be back in St James' Church to celebrate Christingle as a whole school. The service was made extra special this year as we were the first to sing accompanied by the new organ! Those who joined us last year, will also know it was a little chilly - but not this year! We were warmed not only by the joyous atmosphere created by our children, but also the new fandangle heating system!
After our magical walk up to the church, we were warmly welcomed by our Governing Body's Vice Chair Mr Martin Grubb. The service itself was packed full of wonderful Carols, with Year 6 performing the poem 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' and Year 5 singing their revamped version of a classic 'Rocking around the knitted tree'.
A huge thanks to Ed for accompanying our singing with the organ, to those who kindly read Bible passages from Luke to share the Christmas story, Governor Simon Bates, teacher Mrs Hollis and Learning Support Assistant Mrs Johal, and to Mrs Newitt for planning the whole event! Many thanks also to the members of St James's PCC who joined us to light our Christingles and keep us all safe, and last but by no means least, thank you to Reverend Linda for welcoming us to St James' once again for this special service and for leading our prayers. It was a truly joyful hour for us all.
