5th July 2024
This week, KS2 enjoyed a fantastic visit from the wonderful comic creator, Neill Cameron. Neill discussed his creations with the children, which included Mega Robo Bros. He showed the children how his graphic novels relate to everyday life, at the same time as being set in the future.
Inspiring us all to follow our dreams, Neil shared his drawings as a primary student and his drawings now. He spoke about following your passions and putting in hard work towards your goals. Neill shared his secret weapon to creating comics and developing new ideas which are “totally super awesome”. The children used his scientific method to create their own stories and comic characters, sharing them with each other. The children voted on creating a Pizza Dragon which Neill drew live with the children’s input during their creative and “totally awesome” workshop!

The Challenge runs in Warwickshire Libraries from Saturday 6th July and runs through the summer holidays until Saturday 7th September. This year, the theme is Marvellous Makers! Developed by the Reading Agency in partnership with Create, a leading charity bringing the creative arts to those who need it most, this year’s Challenge aims to fire up children’s imaginations and unleash storytelling and creativity through the power of reading.
Your local libraries will be running a busy programme of summer activities around this theme. Please click the relevant link(s) from the list below to download the flyer or flyers which are most relevant to you - come and visit the library over the summer holidays and have fun with us!
