On the 27th November 2023, Year 5 went on an epic school trip to Leicester Space Centre. They found a control panel, a space shuttle simulator and a rocket launcher. The lucky ducks went in a glass lift to see the fuel container of a rocket. They also learned about how astronauts communicate in spacecrafts but their favourite thing was the hologram roof and planetarium. The film was so realistic and enjoyable that they felt like they were in space. They spent ages in the interactive area doing things like remaking the big bang, controlling a space robot and gravity walls. They were shocked to find out how many fancy suits the astronauts wore and how they functioned.
Year 5 would like to say thank you to all the adults who helped to plan and come on the trip, especially Rowan’s mum Tash and Mr Matthews who gave up their time to volunteer.
