News

8th September 2023

Welcome back to Alveston! This week has been full of sunshine and smiles, what beautiful weather to have for our return to school. When the children are grown up and have children of their own, some of their most prominent memories will be of having fun in the sun on our school field and Frozen Fridays! This fills all our hearts with joy.
Whilst our children made the transition to new classes, we welcomed two new pupils and our new Reception children too - and didn't they do well! They and their families are super additions to the Alveston Family and community. It has been wonderful to start to get to know all the new faces and characters.
We have talked much this week about the tricky transition we all go through to get back into the routine of school. Getting up earlier, being prepared for the day ahead and remembering all the routines when we are here. It was in truth a glorious week, a fabulous start, as we all sunk fairly seamlessly into the new academic year. Until someone makes a blooper! So please let me apologise in this very first newsletter for the lack of newsletter at 1pm today - my blooper, my bad! As I return to the sunshine in the garden, I will think about how I can learn from this and settle safely into the newsletter routine for the rest of the year.
Wishing you a peaceful and rest-filled weekend, I look forward to seeing you all again on Monday.

House Point Cup Winners!

Congratulations to Charlecote Greens!

Year 6 enjoyed Forest School this week in the beautiful sunshine. They participated in circles and used poles to make an A-frame tunnel. Great teamwork, Year 6!
Presentation Reminders

At Alveston, it is really important for our pupils to feel a sense of belonging and community through a smart and practical uniform. We believe a uniform allows all pupils, regardless of background, to feel equal to their peers and confident in their appearance.

So, with the new school year, comes a couple of reminders about our uniform policy!

  • Earrings must be limited to one pair of small studs (no larger than 3mm in diameter/width).
  • Nail varnish is not permitted
  • No temporary tattoos are to be worn at school
If you would like to see our School Uniform Policy in full, please click here.

Many thanks for your support!

Parking at Drop-Off and Pick-Up

We are so lucky at Alveston that the Football Club allow all our parents who drive to school to use their car park for drop-off and pick-up. This makes it safer for all our children. Please continue to use the Football Club car park. Please do not park on Knights Lane or Oak Road for pick-up or drops-offs. Please also ensure that you do not stop or park within the zig-zag "Keep Clear" markings. This area is marked to keep the flow of traffic moving and to ensure the safety of all pedestrians.
