Sport Report: Alveston Girls v's Bishopton Girls

News

11th March 2022

Our girls football team had an away match on Tuesday 8th March against Bishopton.

This was our the girls' first football match. They all played really well and sadly, the better footballing team lost!

Winning 5-1, Bishopton played with power, their tactic to smash the ball at the goal most of the time and this is how they scored. Our goalie Zavi, who stepped in to support the girls, made a fabulous one handed save which got both teams' parents applauding loudly. It was an extremely powerful shot, but Zavi put his body on the line to save it!

All our players did a wonderful job in attack and defence. During one battle for the ball, the opposition player tried to clear. Hitting Lydia in the stomach, Lydia carried on to finish bottom corner with her left foot.

Our girls always looked threatening on the attack and were unlucky not to score more.
The final score line really flattered Bishopton, it doesn't reflect how well the Alveston team played. We are all so proud their play.
Well done Isobella, Jasmine, Lydia, Megan, Isa and Zavi!

The team also had great support from their parents who encouraged the team throughout. Thank you!
