News

6th May 2022

Each week we are taking small steps to being back to normal. Whether that is welcoming visitors into school to support our learning, coming together each morning for Collective Worship or staff removing masks in shared areas, each small step is bringing such joy and relief to us all.

Next week our Year 6 children will sit their SATs. I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of all the Alveston Family, to wish our children lots of luck and love for the week ahead. Whatever next week brings, we are incredible proud of all that you have achieved.

On April 1st,  we first shared with you our plan for a Jubilee Celebration for Our Generations. Today we are sharing the Event Information Sheet with all the details. We are very excited about the event and are looking forward to sharing the afternoon with parents, carers, grandparents and siblings and to making it a life long memory for all our children. So, put the date in the diary, dig out your red, white and blue and join us in this once in a lifetime celebration!

Wishing you a peaceful weekend,

It has been a busy week in Year 4 this week!

Our Chef Jonathan was back in school to teach the children how to cut food in the correct way. Cutting a variety of foods, they created their own Greek salad inspired by their topic, the Ancient Greeks.

In science, to kick off their topic, our Year 4 scientists went around the school listening for different sounds and considering where the vibrations were coming from. What an interesting investigation!

You can see some pictures of Year 4 enjoying their learning at the top of the newsletter.
