From the 1st March and for a period of 7 weeks Townsend Road will have two way traffic lights to allow the company MJ Evans to upgrade new drainage and sewer works for the Spitfire and Taylor Wimpey developments along Knights Lane. The traffic lights will start around 200 metres in and work towards the junction of Knights Lane and Townsend Road over the period of 7 weeks. Access to properties will be available at all times.
Following on from these works, from approximately mid April, they will then work from this junction up to nearly the top of Knights Lane which unfortunately means that Knights Lane will be closed to all traffic for a further period of around 7 weeks. It has to be a full closure as there is no walkway along Knights Lane.
Residents on Townsend Road and Hamilton Road will soon receive more specific details from the contractors in the next few days.
Nearer the time all residents and businesses on Knights Lane and surrounding area will also receive details of the works on Knights Lane with a confirmation of a starting date and contact details.
